1. Purpose
This policy applies to all AlpineLayer services and all users acting through a customer account. Its purpose is to protect infrastructure, network reputation, customers, third parties and lawful service operation.
2. Lawful use
Services may not be used to violate applicable law, court orders, intellectual-property rights, privacy rights, sanctions restrictions or binding regulatory requirements.
3. Malicious and security-abusive activity
- Malware, ransomware, botnets or command-and-control systems.
- Phishing, credential theft or deceptive login pages.
- Unauthorized access, exploitation or attempted compromise of third-party systems.
- Denial-of-service attacks, amplification or deliberate resource exhaustion.
- Scanning, brute force or vulnerability exploitation without authorization.
- Hosting unlawfully obtained credentials, payment data or stolen information.
4. Spam and messaging
Unsolicited bulk messaging, purchased or scraped lists, spamvertising and deceptive delivery practices are prohibited. The Anti-Spam Policy also applies.
5. Illegal or infringing content
Customers may not knowingly host or distribute content that is unlawful, facilitates serious criminal abuse, unlawfully infringes intellectual-property rights, or violates the rights and safety of others. AlpineLayer may act on substantiated notices and valid legal orders.
6. Network abuse
- Source-address spoofing.
- Open relays or intentionally insecure services that cause material abuse.
- Using IP resources primarily to evade blocklists or reputation controls.
- Interference with shared infrastructure or other tenants.
- Automated traffic that materially harms third parties or the AlpineLayer network.
7. Shared-resource usage
Multi-tenant products are subject to plan-specific CPU, memory, IO, process, inode, storage, bandwidth and messaging limits. Customers may not circumvent limits or use shared hosting for workloads that materially degrade the platform. The Fair Use & Resource Policy applies.
8. High-risk workloads
Cryptocurrency mining, public proxies, Tor exit nodes, mass VPN resale, traffic-exchange systems and similar high-risk workloads may be restricted or require prior written approval because of power, legal, abuse or network-reputation impact.
9. Resellers
Resellers remain responsible for downstream users, must maintain a working abuse contact, pass through applicable policies and cooperate promptly with investigations.
10. Enforcement
Depending on severity, AlpineLayer may request remediation, rate-limit, isolate, block, null-route, suspend or terminate affected resources. Immediate action may be taken where delay would increase harm.
11. Appeals
Customers may request review at abuse@alpinelayer.ch and should provide relevant evidence. Service need not be restored while an active threat remains.
